Job Purpose
To ensure all Inspection, Measurement and Test Equipment’s (IMTE) in SGM/SGMC are compliance with the defined quality management system
To ensure manufacturing readiness from quality point of view for new product introduction
Duties and Responsibilities
MTE system and Metrology
Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical inspection
To innovate, re-engineer, stimulate and optimize measuring processes
Analysis and evaluation of measurement results, examination of measurement capabilities, evaluate new calibration methods and procedures
Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes and report of measurement data
Maintain calibration laboratory and/or departmental accreditation, and quality systems
Perform laboratory and/or departmental administration and management
Leadership
Prioritize and manage cross-functional activities
Take up the role of a project manager
Understand project requirements, scope, assess technology requirements and develop a measurement plan.
Set milestones, deadlines, drive tasks accordingly by planning, ensuring and monitoring of required resources
Driving quality related requirements for new Product Introduction
Responsible for performing a variety of engineering duties related to the planning and design of new products, improving measurement methods and initiating changes if required
Ensure adequate metrological and failure analysis capabilities are available to support all qualification, failure analysis, and problem solving activities.
Analysis and evaluation of measurement results, examination of measurement capabilities, evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
To setup and maintain the system for managing measurement and test resources
New Product Introduction
Handle New Product Introduction (NPI) for Quality Engineering from Prototype to Mass Production
Monitor & track NPI documentation requirements & status per NPI checklist
Coordinate with various functions on NPI requirements for QA, production and process requirements
Handle customer queries on NPI quality engineering matters (IMTE / Quality Control Plan / OQA etc.)
Monitor product quality engineering issues, evaluate and track countermeasures
Coordinate with customer to ensure that IMTE and other requirements are monitored and met before and after shipment
Preparation of measurement concepts, measurement strategies, choice of test equipment and machines and their evaluation, based on customer requirements/specifications
IMTE planning for new product mass/sample production (Eg: sample size calculation, define metrology method)
Apply Six Sigma, FMEA or other problem solving tools to solve production critical issues and monitor key process parameters and process capability
Working Relationships and Contact
Working relationships must be established within and across departments at SGM/SGMC
Liaise with suppliers / customers / machine makers and other external parties
EHS Responsibilities
Responsible towards the environmental conservation, health and safety of own self and his employees according to the laws, regulations and guidelines from country or state authority, corporate and local operation.
Inform, consult and participate his employee in evaluating work place risk.
Stop work for him and his employees where he has reasonable ground to believe there is a risk of imminent and serious injury or harm to health.
Job Requirements
Advanced knowledge of metrology
Knowledge in manufacturing systems
Knowledge in project management
Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO 14000, ISO 45000 & IATF 16949
Proficiency with MS operating systems and software.
Expert in analytical tool such as minitab/ JMP or etc
Expert in QM-tools, Practical knowledge of quality assurance methods (Gage R&R, MSA, SPC, FMEA etc.)
Expert in mathematical/statistical analysis
Advanced knowledge in DOE
Fluent in English
Knowledge in production processes, and able to drive Production in defining KPIV / KPOV
Min 8 years working experience in manufacturing field
University Degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, with focus on QA/Metrology or ASQ CQE.
