Job Responsibility

  • Manage and oversee a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during service.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality Western cuisine dishes according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor food quality and ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's standards before serving to customers.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their development and performance.
  • Assist in menu development and recipe creation, contributing innovative ideas and techniques to enhance the dining experience.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies for the assigned section, minimizing waste and ensuring adequate stock levels.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on Western cuisine.
  • Proven expertise in kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating.
  • In-depth knowledge of Western culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and food safety standards.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with kitchen staff and management.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Johor Bahru and be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
