Responsibilities
Make an impact
- Develop and implement FinOps strategies, policies and best practices to optimize cloud costs.
- Establish a FinOps governance framework.
- Drive FinOps agenda from awareness to action.
- Daily monitoring of cloud costs.
- Monitor and analyze cloud expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with various teams to promote best practices for cloud cost management.
- Ensure cost transparency of cloud operations (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GPC etc.), identify levers for cost optimization and work together with KUKA Group projects and internal colleagues to implement optimization measures.
- Setting up cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms.
- Identifying cost savings through automation and right-sizing.
- Create reports and dashboards to visualize cloud costs and usage to stakeholders.
- Assist in budget planning and forecasting for cloud resources.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures in the cloud environment.
- Plan infrastructure requirements, organize the migration and actively support the migration teams regarding technical, financial and organizational aspects.
- Conduct training and workshops on FinOps topics for internal teams.
What you need to succeed
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in managing cloud costs and resources (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and OnPrem infrastructure)
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Understanding of cloud cost models and pricing mechanisms.
- Strong knowledge of FinOps principles and methods.
- Ability to develop effective reporting schemes/metrics to maintain strong control on usage and billing of cloud services.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, Cloudability etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams (IT, finance, business functions) and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
