A Snapshot of Your Day
As a member of the Customs Global Classification team, you will be responsible for accurately classifying a broad range of products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule on behalf of Siemens Energy entities in Malaysia (MY). Within this responsibility you capture data/documentation and determine the correct customs classification (tariff) according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS- MY).
This position reports to the Global Classification Team and works in close collaboration with the Customs Operations Team located in KL-MY, part of a multinational team.

How You’ll Make An Impact
- Identifying the required information for customs classification and gathering this information from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departments such as engineering, R&D and other areas.
- Analyzing and collaboration /assistance in classifying goods according to MY Customs regulations and MY Harmonized Tariff Schedule and taking into consideration technical attributes required for the classification process.
- Monitoring and controlling Customs Classification processes
- Ensure product classifications comply with MY Customs Regulations requirements and other relevant trade regulations
- Stay up to date on changes in customs laws, regulations, and HTS-MY amendments
- Manage classification rulings and communicate with customs authorities to ensure compliance with MY regulations.
- Actively participate in team growth efforts.
- Recommend when needed changes in current processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or trade, legal or related with minimum of 2 years of experience in the filed of custom classification.
- Excellent language skills (written and verbal) in local language and English are a must.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and experience with customs/ERP IT systems such as SAP, MIC, Integration Point, etc. a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Negotiation, presentation, and assertiveness are attributes that describe you the best.
- Support organization's goals, values, and diversity.
- Business travels of 5-10 %.
