About The Role
We are seeking a Deal Strategy and Operations Analyst to support our global strategy for custom deal processes within the Global Deal Strategy, Compensation, and Monetization Team. This analyst role is ideal for someone eager to learn and contribute to operationalizing custom deal structures for strategic and marketplace customers. Collaborating across functions like Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering Finance, and Legal, this role is a unique opportunity to develop a breadth of skills in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who can easily wear different hats and work collaboratively with multiple teams, cultures, and time zones for this role. The selected candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Deal Strategy Operations, based in Europe, and play a key part in Confluent's continued global success.

About The Role

What You Will Do
- Support the execution of the strategic deal exceptions process according to guidelines, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders such as Product Management, Product Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Sales Leadership.
- Assist the Deal Desk, Deal Strategy, and Monetization teams in projects aimed at enhancing deal pricing efficiency while maintaining profitability.
- Contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly reports for the Deal Strategy, Compensation, and Monetization Team that outline Discount Reporting, Key Performance Indicator assessments, and more.
- Engage in handling strategic deals, including Multi-Cloud, Cloud Native, and non-standard deal structures.
- Support deal teams by offering operational insights on deal shaping, including strategy, structure, and pricing solutions.
- Provide input to product management and marketing on the operational aspects of go-to-market initiatives.
- Assist in driving strategic go-to-market processes and developing related key assets and metrics.
- Support the operational side of strategic pricing initiatives, including the Deal Exceptions Approval Program
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Ops, or related positions, with a willingness to learn about Order-to-Cash contracts and pricing functions.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and Google Suite experience
- Experience with Cloud Service Providers a plus
- Ability to think abstractly and apply concepts across various scenarios.
- A desire to advise and support Sales teams, including those focused on SaaS, On-Prem, and Professional Services.
- Eagerness to develop solid cross-functional partnerships across Product, Marketing, Revenue, Legal, and IT teams.
- Interest in learning how to draft commercial terms and collaborate with Legal teams.
- Basic understanding of ASC 606 is a plus, with a readiness to learn its sales implications.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with attention to effectively conveying information across teams, roles, and levels.
- Willingness to engage in project management and to work with remote sales and business partner teams.
