Deputy Director of Nursing

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Deputy Director of Nursing reports directly to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for the coordination of the Hospital’s nursing and ancillary services during and after office hours (evening, night, weekend and public holiday).
• The Deputy Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of clinical standards, and acting as a resource person for nursing staff. She should demonstrate well developed communication and motivational skills.
• To lead and co-ordinate a range of activities that promote excellence in nursing practice.
• To contribute to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of the Nursing strategies.
• To develop and monitor clinical performance at departmental level and evaluate results as in tandem with the standards.
• To advocate for human resource issues, promoting professional achievement and assuring an environment that support clinical excellence.
• To ensure high standard of care is maintained at all times and that the care provided is customer focused.
• To ensure that nursing staff provide courteous and prompt service to patients and visitors.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• RN with a current practising certificate from the Nursing Board of Malaysia.
• More than 8 years of clinical nursing experience.
• A degree in Nursing / Health Care.
