Your Role

As a Developer Advocate, you will be the champion of our API documentation and the bridge between our product and the developers who use it. Your mission is to empower our customers by creating a world-class developer experience, giving developers powerful on-demand learning resources, and unlocking a delightful build experience with Reap products. This role is perfect for a builder who loves to write and teach, and because you'll gain deep product knowledge and customer empathy, it serves as an excellent career stepping stone towards becoming a Product Engineer or Pre-Sales Engineer.

What You'll Do

• Own the Developer Experience: Take full ownership of the developer journey, ensuring a world-class experience by creating robust onboarding guides, comprehensive documentation, and a rich library of learning assets.
• Create High-Quality Content: Write engaging "how-to" guides, tutorials, and conceptual articles that help developers solve real-world problems with our API.
• Develop Code Samples & Demos: Use your scripting and API development skills to create practical code samples and build powerful, interactive demo assets using the Coast platform.
• Ensure Technical Accuracy: Collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams to stay ahead of new features and ensure all documentation is technically precise and up-to-date with each release.
• Be the Voice of the Developer: Act as the first and most important user of our API. Leverage your expertise to provide critical feedback to the product and engineering teams during the development cycle, ensuring new features provide a world-class experience before they reach our customers.
• Collaborate and Organize: Use modern project management tools to manage a backlog of documentation and API change requests from customers and internal teams (e.g., Sales, Support). You will be responsible for prioritizing these asks, planning content updates, and communicating timelines as a core part of your day-to-day operations.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Hands-On API Experience: You have practical experience working with APIs. You know how to use tools like Postman, curl, or write scripts to make API requests and understand the responses.
• Scripting Proficiency: You are comfortable writing code in at least one scripting language (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python) and can produce clean, easy-to-understand code samples.
• Exceptional Writing Skills: You have a talent for explaining complex technical topics in a simple, clear, and concise way. You can show this through past work, a blog, or personal projects.
• Developer Empathy: You can easily put yourself in a developer's shoes, anticipate their questions, and understand their frustrations.
• Organizational Skills: You are proficient with project management and collaboration software for planning and tracking your work.
• Navigates Ambiguity with Autonomy: You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where the path forward isn't always clear. You have a knack for figuring things out on your own and the conviction to build consensus among diverse stakeholders to drive projects forward.
