Position: DevOps

Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure management for software development based on our own GitLab server.
2. Cloud infrastructure management for company services.
3. Communication platform management for the team using Discord.
4. Network infrastructure management for the company.
5. Local infrastructure and equipment management for the company.

GitHub:

• Repository management, ensuring correct content and proper functioning of branches (main, dev, feature branches), assisting in preparing release commits and formatting merge requests, and ensuring proper repository organization.
• CI/CD management (projects, packages, asset bundles), tracking automated builds and tests on the server, scheduling build schedules (commit-based, nightly, weekly, release-based), and monitoring code coverage.
• Management of the virtual machine hosting GitLab (storage for packages - Unity, NPM, NuGet).
• Production/test deployment.
• Configuration of automated GitHub server notifications.
• Backup of repositories.
• Integration of GitHub with other services.

Server and Cloud:

• Management of company services and resources in the cloud.
• Load management for the volumetric video playback web service.
• Network load control in the cloud, system scaling.
• Work with Kubernetes. Deployment, resource control.
• Configuration of network firewalls, scripting for basic network attack tracking.
• Creation and configuration of Linux watchdog services and daemons.
• Management and monitoring of neural network services in the GPU cloud.
• Ensuring fault tolerance for production servers and company services.

Package Storage:

Task Board: Management of the GitHub projects.

Discord Server:

• Monitoring of main server channels.
• Onboarding new members, managing interview processes, and ensuring proper resource utilization.
• Proposing and implementing new functionality based on bots, commands, etc.
• Integration of corporate calendars and email.
• Calendar meeting management.

About the Project: We are a company developing technology for recording and streaming volumetric videos. Our technology allows viewing volumetric videos on various devices, including VR headsets, smartphones, and PCs. Our company stands out for its product-focused approach to development and close integration of developers into a distributed team. This direct involvement allows them to influence technical decisions, code quality, and the final product. We value initiative and ideas that contribute to product development.

We also collaborate with an international group of advisors who help us determine market needs, design preferences, and other aspects of our product. In May 2021, we conducted our first live stream of volumetric video directly to Oculus Quest 2 glasses and the Twitch platform, attracting over 1000 viewers worldwide.

Since then, we’ve achieved several milestones:

• In December 2022, our iOS app launched on the Apple AppStore worldwide (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spherum-volumetric-studio/id6443966542).
• In January 2023, our VR app became available on Viveport Store (https://www.viveport.com/apps/d8d5a38e-5953-455a-ad3e-7bb5a3b31dac) and SideQuest (https://sidequestvr.com/app/12077/spherum-volumetric-player).
• In April, our Android app was released on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spherum.spherumVolume).
• In May 2023, our VR app also appeared on Steam Store (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2223230/Spherum_3D/).
• By late summer 2023, we started an active ad campaign to attract users. By now we aquired over 45,000 installations across 151 countries.
• In April 2024 we founded Spherum SDN. BHD. here in Malaysia to bring our Spherum Platform to the next level. We are actively hiring and building a team here.
• In October 2024 we published our enhanced app Avatai on AppStore (https://apps.apple.com/az/app/avatai/id6736605441?uo=2) which includes improved avatar quality, new features like gaming hub, accessories and talking avatars, which were not available in the original app.
