Embedded Software Engineer

Requirements

• Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Assembly, and sometimes Python are typically required.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers is essential, including familiarity with microcontroller architectures such as ARM, Arduino, and AVR, especially in STM32.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, and CAN is usually expected.
• Familiarity with wireless communication technology such as LoRa, Bluetooth and GSM is an advantage
• Familiarity with hardware design principles is beneficial, including digital and analog circuitry, and the ability to read schematics and datasheets.
• The ability to debug hardware and software issues is crucial, including the use of debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of the aviation industry in which the embedded software engineer will be working is an advantage.
• Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.
• Adaptable to change, able to pivot and find alternate solutions, demonstrated capability in meeting new challenges.
• Critical observer-thinker, bringing fresh perspective and offering intuitive solutions and ideas.

• Experience: preferable at least 1 year
• Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibility

• Develop and implement software for microcontrollers and other embedded systems, including writing and testing code in programming languages.
• Debug software and hardware issues, including using tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to diagnose problems.
• Work with hardware engineers to design and implement software interfaces for various hardware components such as sensors, motors, and displays.
• Ensure that software is reliable, efficient, and meets the required standards for safety and quality.
• Maintain documentation of software designs, requirements, and test plans.
• Collaborate with other engineers, including software, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as project managers, to develop and deliver embedded systems projects.
• Keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends, and suggest new ideas and approaches for improving embedded system performance and functionality.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in design, coding, implementation & testing of new features or enhancements for software in embedded applications.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Assist in Hardware and other IT required tasks.
