Environmental Consultant (Petaling Jaya)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Sustainability and Climate Change Consultant to support and lead client engagements on sustainability strategy, climate risk assessments, GHG accounting, and decarbonization planning. The ideal candidate has experience working across industries, strong analytical skills, and a passion for driving environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead sustainability and climate-related consulting projects for clients, including:
• GHG inventory and carbon footprint assessments (Scope 1, 2, and 3)
• Climate risk and opportunity assessments (e.g. TCFD, IFRS S2)
• Decarbonisation strategy and net zero roadmaps.
• Sustainability reporting (e.g. Bursa Malaysia, GRI, ISSB)
• Financial emissions and portfolio-level assessments (e.g. PCAF)
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Prepare high-quality reports, models, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide technical guidance and quality control.
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date on local and global sustainability trends and regulations.
• Support business development efforts including proposal writing and pitching.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Climate Studies, or related fields
• 3 – 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting or corporate ESG/sustainability role.
• Strong understanding of international standards and frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, SBTI, TCFD, ISSB, CDP, etc.).
• Proficient in GHG calculations and data analysis (Excel, Power BI); experience with ESG-related software or equivalent is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
