Your Mission
- Design and develop analytics scripts based on agreed-upon functional requirements for identified client issues or review scope. Provide guidance to auditors on the types of data analytics and procedures to apply on projects.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, using ACL or other analytics tools / programming languages, on a broad array of issues across disciplines, projects and functional areas within Group Integrity, Governance & Assurance (GIGA).
- Translate data analytics conclusions into early warning signals, and along the way, identify and recommend opportunities for cost recovery, cost avoidance, process and control improvements.
- Develop automation to facilitate continuous monitoring of controls effectiveness (CCM), based on analysis of tables and data fields, as and when necessary.
- Build and maintain data warehouse to enable data interrogation or new analytics exploration to be undertaken by non-technical auditors in a safe environment.
- Build and maintain data visualisation and control dashboards to be able to explain the analytics results of control / business issues to non-technical GCA Management in a compelling manner.
- Draft Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) and other data analytics engagement reports on a periodic basis for Senior Management to drive attention and actions.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of significant developments within data analytics universe and keep abreast on the emerging and advances in analytics practices.
- Undertake ad-hoc data analytics projects as part of investigations, special reviews or advisory engagements, as and when necessary.
- Assist in the development of Standards, Best Practices and Guidelines for data analytics in auditing, continuous monitoring and all data analytics programmed solutions.
- Ensure maintenance and retention of all analytics scripts and robust documentation of related processes, procedures and analysis work.
- Actively participate in the resolution of ACL software issues, such as licensing, application maintenance, bug/errors, and deployment of new versions.
- Explore the usage of new analytics tools in line with the advancement of analytics and digital technology.
- Develop, operate and maintain a good and solid data analytics ecosystem in the Department.
Ideal Candidate
- Relevant tertiary education (minimum bachelor’s degree), primarily in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Professional certification or technical qualification (e.g. Certified Data Scientist, CISA, CIA, CFE, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) is a plus.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience within Data Analytics domain in a large / complex ERP environment and databases (e.g. SAP, SQL, etc.).
- At least 1 year of experience using ACL at an intermediate level, including script development, or other analytics tools / programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, IDEA or Excel.
- Experience with Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse development using SQL, and data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau and PowerBI) is an added advantage.
- Exceptional business acumen, analytical and critical thinking skills with proven ability to challenge the status quo and seek innovation.
- Articulate in verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organisation skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
