Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the designated shift team, ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical environmental systems while maintaining 100% uptime for all critical power systems on site at all times.
  2. Work Order Prioritization: Prioritize and assign planned and unplanned work orders (PPMs/TTs) to your shift Data Center Specialists, aiming to achieve and maintain 100% compliance each month.
  3. Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all quality, health and safety, and environmental policies within your area of responsibility.
  4. Coordination of Maintenance: Coordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for your shift team. Maintain a comprehensive overview of all activities, and collaborate with the Critical Maintenance Manager to prioritize tasks.
  5. Subcontractor Management: Ensure that all subcontractors are properly inducted and permitted to work within the area before issuing work permits. Review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure compliance with site health and safety and operating procedures before issuing permits.
  6. FOC Monitoring: Ensure the Facilities Operations Centre (FOC) is manned at all times and that EPMS, BMS, and Fire System alarms are responded to promptly.
  7. Preventive Maintenance Compliance: Oversee the completion of all scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks by your shift team, ensuring timely execution to achieve 100% PM compliance.
  8. Activity Logging: Update and log all activities and time on the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, ensuring your shift team does the same.
  9. Shift Handover Reporting: Prepare and send a daily Shift Handover report via email, detailing activities and issues that require escalation. It is your responsibility to ensure the report is accurately completed and sent to the critical environments email alias on time.
  10. PPE Compliance: Ensure you wear the provided K2 clothing and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  11. KPI Management: Drive your shift team to achieve acceptable scores on the KPI Scorecard as outlined in CAFM.
  12. Procedure Development: Contribute to the development of site-specific procedures, including Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and EOP drills as directed by management.
  13. Emergency Response: Be fully familiar with the site Emergency Response Plan and cooperate with the SOC/FOC during emergencies.
  14. Health and Safety Reporting: Report any health and safety breaches or concerns to your manager promptly.
  15. Drills Participation: Complete a minimum of four drills per month.
  16. Subcontractor Oversight: Supervise and monitor the work of third-party engineers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with site standards during maintenance and related activities.
  17. Relationship Building: Foster a good working relationship with all K2 staff and customer representatives.
  18. Toolbox Talks: Conduct Toolbox Talks at each shift rotation to achieve or exceed your team's monthly targets. Ensure all talks are documented and signed off after completion.
  19. Professional Representation: Maintain a professional image of K2 to clients and visitors at all times while on site.
  20. Policy Compliance: Adhere to all K2 quality, health and safety, and environmental policies and documentation requirements during work.
  21. Additional Tasks: Undertake any other tasks as defined and requested by local management.
  22. Emergency Shift Coverage: Serve as the next point of contact after the Shift cover technician to cover shifts during emergencies, holidays, and short-notice absences. Flexibility in your working patterns is required to meet the demands of the business and operational needs.

Skills and Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Data Centre environment is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the data center industry, including development and management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, along with effective interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malay.
  • Proficient in project planning, change management, and time management.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A collaborative team player, capable of working with colleagues and client staff at all levels.
  • Proficient in using computer applications effectively.
