Get To Know The Role
- As the Lead - Finance Projects, you will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for driving and managing critical financial projects that are foundational to our growth and success. This is a strategic role that requires a unique blend of technical financial expertise, rigorous project management discipline, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape for digital banking in Malaysia. You will be instrumental in the development and launch of new financial products, ensuring they are built on a solid foundation of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and scalable processes.
- New Product Development: Act as the finance subject matter expert in cross-functional teams for new product launches. You will be responsible for assessing the financial and regulatory implications, defining accounting and reporting requirements, and ensuring the successful integration of new products into our finance systems.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Oversee the design and implementation of robust and automated regulatory reporting processes to ensure full compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) Digital Banking Framework. This includes, but is not limited to, reporting on capital adequacy, liquidity, and other prudential standards.
- IFRS & Accounting Excellence: Ensure all financial projects and new products adhere to the latest International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with a particular focus on the nuances of IFRS 9 for a digital lending portfolio. You will provide expert guidance on complex accounting treatments and ensure the integrity of our financial data.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Product, Technology, Risk, and Compliance teams, to ensure seamless project execution. You will also liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors and regulators.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance processes and systems, leveraging technology and automation to build a best-in-class finance function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or professional qualifications ACCA/CPA/CA.
- Strong Excel & Tableau skills.
- Financial accounting knowledge and exposure to ERP/Accounting systems.
- Project management skills for a finance or other banking projects will be an added advantage.
- Preferably with experience in the banking industry.
- More than 8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong integrity and not afraid to raise concerns or highlight opportunities.
- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
- Good communication skills, able to communicate clearly with senior business stakeholders and peers.
- Good time management skills, able to deliver quality work on time.
- Structured thought process and strong analytical ability.
