Our client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated General Ledger Accountant to join their Shared Service Center. This role is integral to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data, contributing significantly to the organisation's overall financial standing. The successful candidate will oversee a wide array of tasks associated with the general ledger and 'Record to Report' functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions.

What you'll do:
As a General Ledger Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our financial data. You will play a crucial role in overseeing daily inputs into the general ledger system, adhering strictly to our internal control framework. Your expertise will be vital in facilitating the 'Record to Report' process, providing valuable input for management reporting. Collaborating with various departments, you will help streamline our financial recording process for added efficiency. Your commitment to accuracy will shine through as you conduct rigorous reconciliations of all general ledger accounts as part of our month-end process.
- Oversee daily input of financial data into the general ledger system, ensuring correctness, completeness, and substantiation with appropriate details.
- Adhere to a tight control environment abiding by the company's internal control framework.
- Prepare and post necessary general ledger journal entries aligning with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account close procedures, making necessary accruals and adjustments.
- Carry out rigorous reconciliations of all general ledger accounts as part of the month-end process.
- Facilitate the 'Record to Report' process, providing detailed financial data for management reporting.
- Collaborate with different departments to integrate their financial data into the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, providing all necessary general ledger data, account analyses, and financial reports.
- Develop and implement comprehensive general ledger procedures that comply with company policies and GAAP.
What you bring:
As a General Ledger Accountant, you bring a wealth of experience in accounting or finance, with a preference for Chartered Accountants. Your proficiency in English and Chinese will be crucial in this role. You are highly detail-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. Your knowledge of cash application software and accounting systems is complemented by your advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. You have experience with BPCS and SAP, and have proven abilities in developing and managing accounting policies, processing journal entries and allocations, reconciling general ledger accounts, and performing capital project and fixed assets accounting.
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
- Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
- 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in English & Chinese
- Highly detail-oriented with ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Knowledge of cash application software and accounting systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience with BPCS and SAP
- Ability to develop/manage accounting policies
- Experience managing financial master records
- Proven ability to process journal entries and allocations
- Experience reconciling general ledger accounts
- Experience in capital project and fixed assets accounting
- Experience in intercompany accounting
