GL Accountant (ANZ)

A leading global organisation is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team in PJ, offering the opportunity to support both APAC and North America regions. What you'll do:

As a General Ledger Accountant based in PJ, you will support APAC and North America by managing balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings in Oracle, daily cash receipts, and month-end close tasks. You'll liaise with internal and external stakeholders, perform control checks, handle urgent requests, and reconcile bank accounts daily. Collaboration with teams in Vancouver and KL is key to resolving receipt discrepancies, and you'll also support audit processes and contribute to ongoing improvements in financial systems.

• Prepare and post journal entries, and perform balance sheet reconciliations in Oracle and BlackLine.

• Manage daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with internal teams.

• Support month-end closing activities and ensure timely reporting.

• Handle stakeholder queries and urgent requests with proper documentation and control checks.

• Collaborate with AR teams in North America and KL, and assist in audit preparations.

What you bring:

To succeed in this role, you should have strong experience in general ledger transactions, bank reconciliations, and working with ERP systems like Oracle. Exposure to treasury operations and preparing management or financial statements is a plus. Clear communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. You'll thrive in a collaborative, continuous improvement-driven environment where building strong internal relationships is key.

• Hold a degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification; candidates working towards a professional accounting certification are highly regarded.
• Demonstrate three to five years of prior experience in general ledger accounting and bank reconciliation within a corporate environment.
• Possess hands-on experience using Oracle for journal postings; familiarity with BlackLine is advantageous but not essential.
• Show previous involvement in treasury functions and managing full set accounts within an international or regional context.
• Have experience preparing management accounts as well as annual financial statements; exposure to audit processes is considered beneficial.
• Show enthusiasm for continuous improvement by actively seeking ways to enhance existing financial processes.
