Job Descriptions:

  1. Supplier Sourcing: Identify and engage service providers, suppliers, and contractors to meet the company's needs for spare parts, construction materials, raw materials, tools, equipment, machinery, vehicles, office fittings, furniture, services etc.
  2. Cost and Quality Analysis: Analyse and compare costs, specifications, features, and quality of products and services to select the best options for the company prior to entering any commercial contracts.
  3. Negotiation of Contracts: Negotiate the best terms and conditions of different products and services from service providers, suppliers and contractors, for once-off, short-term and long-term contracts;
  4. Contract Preparation & Review: Prepare & review all agreements and contracts with service providers, suppliers, contractors and customers to ensure the company’s interests are safeguarded. These include vehicle leasing, procurement, sales and marketing as well as project contracts.
  5. Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly reports on the progress and status of major contracts and purchases.
  6. Annual Review and Appraisal: Plan and develop assessment criteria for conducting annual reviews and appraisals of suppliers, service providers, contractors, customers and clients.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and assess the performance of service providers, suppliers, and contractors in terms of quality, quantity and timely delivery of goods and services.
  8. Compliance Assurance: Ensure that service providers, suppliers, vendors, contractors and requestors comply to company policies and procedures at all times.
  9. Government and Private Agencies Liaison: Liaise with government agencies and other private agencies related to commercial activities (e.g., Customs, DOE).
  10. Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to identify gaps in business processes and practices, proposing effective solutions.
  11. Commercial Department Leadership: Establish the Commercial Department by recruiting the right executives to assist in running various undertakings of the department, developing policies and procedures, setting up the procurement and inventory system, planning and implementing approved projects.
  12. Team Management and Development: Lead a team of personnel, providing training and motivation to maximize performance while effectively managing grievances and disciplinary matters.
  13. Budget Management: Prepare and monitor department budgets.
  14. Any Other Responsibilities and Duties: Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
  2. 20 years of working experience in preparing, reviewing and negotiating procurement or leasing contracts in the logistics, manufacturing or steel industries.
  3. Minimum 7 years of experience in managing a procurement & commercial department.
  4. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
  5. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
