Head of EAL

St Joseph’s Institution International School Malaysia School (SJIIS) in Malaysia is a Lasallian International School (3 to 18 years). It prepares students for the IGCSE and A Level examinations with an emphasis upon research-based teaching pedagogy and a character-building programme of activities inspired by the school’s Lasallian heritage. This includes service learning initiatives, and a holistic approach to sport, music and the arts.

SJIIS is seeking an outstanding and inspirational Head of EAL, whose passion and experience will transform the outcomes of our students. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to join the staff of this ambitious and developing international school.

Requirements: We are looking for a committed, passionate and knowledgeable professional who will work proactively to ensure the best possible teaching of EAL. Prior experience of leading an EAL department is preferred.

A Successful Candidate Will

• Oversee pedagogical practices and classroom management within the department to ensure high quality teaching and learning occurs. This will include modeling excellent teaching practices to other staff within the department.
• To promote the Lasallian Mission and Core Values of SJIIS
• Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reports across the department meet the expectations of the school
• Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge and support the continued development of the mathematics curriculum
• Demonstrate a proactive approach towards professional development
• To actively contribute to wider school development and growth
