Job Scope:

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely repairs of equipment to support continuous food production operations.
  • Ensure adherence to sanitary maintenance procedures aligned with food safety standards.

Troubleshooting:

  • Manage and lead troubleshooting efforts for any mechanical or electrical breakdowns during production to maintain productivity and product quality.

Project Management:

  • Lead projects involving the installation, upgrading, or modification of food production equipment, ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines and timely execution.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all M&E systems comply with GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000:2018 regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to uphold food safety and sanitation standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain and manage detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to comply with audit requirements in the food manufacturing industry.

Energy Efficiency & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and optimize energy usage to reduce costs while maintaining compliance with food production standards.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor the M&E team, ensuring efficient workflow and development of skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the production, quality assurance, and safety teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to food safety regulations.

Entry Requirements:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Job-Related Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in M&E roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position in the food manufacturing industry or other manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive experience in managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades in food processing or packaging environments.

Required Skills (Must-Have):

  • Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems used in food manufacturing processes (e.g., conveyors, mixers, packaging machines).
  • Experience with food safety regulations such as GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000:2018.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues quickly to minimize production downtime.
  • Ability to design and implement preventive maintenance programs, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Certifications in electrical safety, energy management, or other relevant qualifications.

Desired Skills (Good to Have):

  • Familiarity with automation, PLC systems, and SCADA used in food processing environments.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air systems, particularly in food manufacturing.
