Medical Physicist

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. To be involved in the commissioning and acceptance testing for the Linear Accelerator and all new radiation equipment before it can be used on patients.
2. To perform routine quality assurance test (daily, monthly, annually) on the Linear Accelerator, CT-Stimulation and Brachytherapy machine to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
3. To construct treatment plans using various techniques such as IMRT, 3D conformal radiotherapy, routine QA and treatment planning for brachytherapy.
4. To conduct patient specific QA for patients undergoing radiotherapy.
5. To establish and implement an ongoing quality management program to ensure that all processes of planning to treatment delivery are safe and accurate as well as to ensure that the radiotherapy and dosimeter equipment meet all specifications and requirements.
6. To consult with the Oncologist & Radiotherapist concerning patient doses and the optimization of treatment planning and delivery to ensure reliability in the delivery of radiation.
7. To ensure that records of maintenance of radiotherapy and dosimetry are kept and maintained according to the Unit’s filing system.
8. To carry out the leakage test for radioactive material from sealed sources used for brachytherapy.
9. To manage the patients’ database and archives.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Master in Medical Physics.
• At least 3 years working experience.
