OSH Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the ESH system to ensure compliance with statutory safety, health and environmental laws and by-laws, the company’s EHS policy and procedures.
• Assist ESH Manager in evaluating and analyzing any hazardous conditions and recommending corrective and preventive actions to the team.
• Assist in continuously promoting awareness of environmental, health and safety through meetings, briefings, training, induction and other communication sessions to all levels of employees, contractors, vendors and visitors.
• Monitor and ensure that all workers/staff wear appropriate protective safety gear and adhere to laid-down safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure and monitor inspection, registration and maintenance of company machinery, tools and equipment in good working order.
• Assist the ESH Manager in investigating accidents, near-misses and other dangerous incidents before recommending appropriate corrective action.
• Liaise with the Local Authorities (DOSH, DOE, CIDB, BOMBA and etc) on matters concerning ESH matters.
• Ensure scheduled waste management and environmental-related programs to conduct.
• Liaise with supplier/contractor, related government authorities and other interested parties on EHS matters.
• Monitor and maintain all licenses, documents and records related to ESH.
• Assist ESH Team in planning and coordinate of the emergency response team. Assist in carrying out fire drills and other exercises to manage emergency situations.
• To monitor and ensure the quality of installation work is carried out at the production plant.
• To attend all ESH meetings and prepare necessary reports for management.
• To carry out other relevant tasks assigned by superior/management from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Certified Diploma or Degree in OSH or in any related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a manufacturing/project site environment.
• OSH Coordinator certification is compulsory.
• Certified CePSWaM compulsory.
• EMS knowledge is an advantage.
• Good technical problem-solving skills and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
