Division Overview
The PlayStation Studios: Creative team is an award winning, global internal creative agency within PlayStation Studios. We endeavour to build a working environment where we can flourish and create industry leading work. Structured around 2 teams; Brand & Strategy and the Creative Studio, comprising of four core disciplines; Design & illustration, UI/UX, Motion & 3D, Film and Video. We deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing/PR teams.
Role Overview
The Producer in PlayStation Studios: Creative is responsible for creating and maintaining a cohesive and efficient digital design system for promotional campaigns and assets for multiple customer touchpoints. This role requires a strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles, visual design, and proficiency in design tools.
You'll play a key role in bringing world-class content to players globally. We're looking for someone with a love for the brand, the ability to collaborate with other teams in the business, and a keen eye for detail. There will be potential to creatively grow within this role.
We are looking for a Producer to play an integral role in managing our AAA projects. You will help grow the production processes and manage day-to-day development across multiple disciplines. Producers will collaborate with lead producers, creative and technical leads and studio managers to define and maintain project plans to determine resources, budget, or needs. Their role is expected to be active daily and work directly with the development team, decision-makers, and production partners daily to address the dynamic changes in an active production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain project plans, schedules, and roadmaps considering dependencies across multiple development teams. Ensure the team is on track with deliverables while seeking opportunities for project budget optimization.
- Work with Production Supervisors and appropriate Departments leads to generate project budgets and scope parameters.
- Able to investigate discrepancies in data and propose actionable solutions to optimise process.
- Responsible for tracking and modifying the project budgets as developer work scope evolves. Communicate those potential changes both internally and to the developers.
- Communicate the budget modifications to ensure financial stakeholders input them into the financial system at the appropriate intervals for evaluation and approval.
- Work with Production team and Department Stakeholders to develop a Project Budget and Production Plan that includes a Project Scope Statement, Work Scope breakdown, staffing schedule and Risk Management Plan.
- Track progress of the project, compare to original plan, work with team to take corrective action if the project is not tracking to plan and regularly communicate status to project stakeholders. Monitor & Control project progress including tracking and projecting actuals and burndowns.
- Collaborate with studio finance to define and maintain process for studio requests for hardware, software, external invoices, etc.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process/ efficiency improvement in the studio operations and execute the necessary collaboration plan with the studio management team.
- Utilize project-tracking tools to maintain a constant awareness of game content status and improve our creative processes.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the production management processes to increase studio efficiency and quality.
- Serve as a mentor and provide leadership, mentorship, information, and resources to new and existing production team members.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of industry experience in a product development environment
- Two or more published titles are considered a strength
- Four-year undergraduate college degree or equivalent skill set
Required Skills:
Project Management
- Familiarity with traditional waterfall production management techniques and Agile techniques, including SCRUM, Kanban or Crystal.
- Functional knowledge of JIRA, Shotgun, DevTrack, and ability to ramp up.
- CI-ACP, CSP, PMP or equivalent certification a plus.
- Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge and ability to multi-task.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), Hansoft, JIRA, Excel, Confluence and other project tracking and bug database software.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across product development and management teams.
- Establish a clear, concise communication methodology
- Define, schedule and communicate goals internally and externally to stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese will be considered an asset.
Interpersonal And Facilitation Skills
- It is our people that make our games great. Strong personal skills are vital to success.
- Strong ability to work in partnership and extend collaboration with various producers, developers, service providers and other SIE business units.
- Ability to identify other business units with necessary technical knowledge and cultivate relationships to the benefit of the team and project.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Game Industry
- Knowledgeable of current industry trends, stay up to date on competitive products and best practices.
- Must love games and have a passion for creating them!
