As Medior Project and Portfolio Manager you have a critical role in the delivery of GBS strategic priorities through the deployment of a robust Continuous Improvement (CI) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) activities and delivery of assigned projects. This role also supports Business Partners on its journey for providing the best quality services to its customers in line with the Global Process Innovation & Excellence vision.

Key Tasks:

  • Contribute to and execute according to CI/PPM strategy roadmap
  • Safeguard policies and governance and working according to GBS methodology and governance
  • Manage and drive Portfolio Management activities in collaboration with BPOs and GBS Management Team to ensure optimal outcome on strategic deliverables and Big Rocks.
  • Supports PPM Board meeting ensuring portfolio insights are well highlighted and discussed with alignment to overall strategy and objectives
  • Manage, implement, and track projects across the centre as well as reporting on key deliverables, in alignment with the global portfolio approach
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of assigned projects
  • Train and develop others, and ensures an optimal development of PPM expertise for GBS

Required experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project or portfolio management.

Must have experience working in a Shared Services or Global Business Services (GBS) environment, with a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes.

Proven track record in managing and engaging multiple stakeholders across various levels and functions, including senior leadership.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, presentations, and documentation.

Experience in transition, transformation, or continuous improvement projects is an added advantage. Hands-on experience with project and portfolio management tools, such as Azure DevOps, Fortes (Principal Toolbox), or other cloud-based solutions.

Projects delivered within time, quality and budget

Following experience are a plus:

Experience in international organization

Work experience in multiple different countries

Required education:

Bachelor or master degree in a relevant area, f.e. Finance

Certification in Project Management PMP, PRINCE2 will be an added advantage and hands on experience in managing a project.

Purpose of GBS Process Innovation & Excellence team

Our Global Business Service (GBS) organisation is part of the Business Group Corporate & Support. The operating model of FrieslandCampina is focused on business centricity, speed, flexibility and cost efficiency. Within this model, GBS is an enabler of these focus areas as a centre of expertise in performance focus, flawless execution of E2E processes, continuous improvement and digitalization. Overall targets are to drive efficiency and effectiveness with improved quality, First Time Right processing with a high level of control compliance and a higher stakeholder satisfaction.

An objective of the Process Innovation & Excellence team is to identify and apply continuous improvement & technology opportunities and principles to drive GBS operational performance. Due to the nature of processes overarching functional boundaries (E2E processes) these improvements have an extensive impact on RFC’s businesses (Opcos and C&S departments). Furthermore, due to the expertise of the team, services are provided to individual businesses within RFC.

The Process Innovation & Excellence team is a global team (with hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Budapest and Netherlands) which is the driving force to:

  • Determine innovation, improvement & technology strategy
  • Define methodologies, governance, frameworks and policies on continuous improvement
  • Identify, design, build and implement process & system innovations
  • Train and build capabilities on new solutions and ways of working


The mission statements are:

  • We are primarily focused on driving innovation and improvement in the GBS Centres, but we also cater for other FrieslandCampina departments outside GBS
  • We have an inquisitive mindset, continuously looking for impactful innovations, improvements of processes and systems. This requires an appetite to collect outside-in views on industry best practices and translate those into value (either productivity, quality or control improvements)
  • We think outside of the box and we are able to engage our stakeholders in supporting our initiatives
  • We ensure that innovations and improvements are supported and eventually embedded and owned by the operational departments
