As a Relationship Manager within our SME Banking division, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating and managing strong client relationships to drive sustainable business growth aligned with the bank's strategic ambitions. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering client-focused financial solutions including tailored credit facilities and facilitating a variety of banking transactions that meet diverse business needs. This dynamic role requires proactive identification and conversion of prospective clients to expand the bank's market presence and maintain a vibrant portfolio of active customers

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include


  • Proactively identifying and qualifying prospective clients in alignment with the Bank’s strategic growth plans and market opportunities.
  • Delivering client-centric financial solutions by structuring suitable credit facilities and conducting seamless execution of banking transactions to address client needs.
  • Building and maintaining a robust portfolio of active clients through ongoing engagement and business development activities to ensure portfolio growth and client retention.
  • Successfully marketing and selling an extensive array of banking products including Trade Services, Lending, Cash Management, and Wealth Management solutions, ensuring comprehensive client service.
  • Preparing detailed credit proposals and loan applications that reflect clients’ business realities and conform to Bank policies.
  • Collaborating closely with credit risk and underwriting teams to ensure high-quality lending decisions that balance risk and opportunity prudently.
  • Implementing strategic business plans effectively to meet defined sales and revenue targets, while continuously monitoring market trends and competitor activities

You will be instrumental in delivering value to our clients by understanding their business contexts deeply and providing innovative financial solutions that support their growth objectives. Service excellence, compliance adherence, and ethical banking practices are integral to your daily operations.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will bring a solid track record and skill set including


  • At least five years of relevant experience serving business, commercial, or corporate clients in the financial services sector, demonstrating strong relationship management and sales capabilities.
  • Proven success in new client acquisition and business development, with a strategic approach to identifying opportunities and converting prospects into loyal clients.
  • Comprehensive product knowledge across Trade Finance, Cash Management, Lending products, and Foreign Exchange, complemented by a sophisticated understanding of local industries, supply chains, value chains, and the broader market environment.
  • Experience managing accounts for international businesses, particularly within cross-border contexts, showcasing a global mindset and adaptability.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is considered a strong advantage, facilitating effective communication with a diverse client base.
  • Robust understanding of wealth management products and services, enabling holistic financial advisory capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex financial concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
