Sika was first established in Malaysia in 1989 and full operations commenced in 1991 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd, with the completion of its local head office and production plant in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Since then, the company has gained a leading position in the country with the acceptance and endorsement of its products for construction and industrial applications by local and international proponents.

In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants. We service our direct customers – concrete producers, contractors and distributors – and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. In 2014 our presence in the Malaysian construction continued to grow when our Ipoh Plant was built and running to meet customer demands.

In Malaysia, our Industry Division is the clear market leader in the automotive glass replacement sector (AGR) and the “Sikaflex” brand is instantly recognized as a mark for quality, reliability and performance. In the automotive OEM sector, we are the approved supplier to top German car markets such as Mercedes Benz and BMW. Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.

Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.

Job Description

  • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, be responsible for creation & maintenance of sufficient quantity & quality of customer contacts & relationships within their designated geographical region.
  • Achieve agreed sales and contribution target / budget and promote Sika products to all potential customers in the designated territory.
  • Provision of necessary customer, product & market information as directed by the superior / Head of Sales to enable the necessary regional support requirements to be realized.
  • Effectively respond to market conditions and customer requirements.
  • Work effectively together with other team members to ensure maintenance and development of customer relationships which cross geographical boundaries.
  • The implementation of regional sales and marketing objectives for the customer groups, jointly with the RSM.
  • Provision of necessary regional customer, product & market information as directed by the RSM to enable the necessary regional support requirements to be realised.
  • Effectively respond to regional market conditions & customer requirements.
  • Work effectively together with other team members to ensure maintenance and development of customer relationships which cross geographical boundaries.
  • Record monthly activities in a timely fashion within the company Salesforce database, including sufficient Salesforce utilization (Quotes, Opportunities, Projects etc).
  • Determine & implement regional sales planning objectives together with the RSM.
  • Assist in the execute market studies under the direction of the RSM & marketing dept.
  • Work with the RSM to achieve their specific customer group or target market sales objectives in relation to their budgets.
  • Prepare with the RSM and implement an appropriate sales plan.
  • Timely collection of all overdue monies from customer accounts.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years in similar capacity or in Engineering field
  • Diploma/Degree in any discipline, preferably Civil Engineering or any Engineering discipline;
  • Excellent computer skills including PowerPoint presentation and Excel spreadsheet applications;
  • Strong organisational and communication skills;
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment;\
  • Able to travel when required;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin, where applicable, would be advantageous;
  • Strong inter-personal, leadership and management skills;
  • Train and development sales team.
