Senior Agronomist (Plantation & Crops)

Established in 1982, we are an award-winning company that has been in the fertilizer industry assisting palm oil planters, crops and farmers. The company specialized in nutrient supply technology. We invest heavily in R&D to ensure we produce the best quality fertilizer to our customer.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Lead, develop and provide advice and technical support in the agriculture industry, particularly in medium-sized or large-scale plantations and cash crops.
2. Provide advice/consultancy for the customer’s industry requirements, business goals, activities, workflows, business systems, applications and platforms and determine how geospatial technology can help the customer accomplish their goals.
3. Oversee and lead research projects, data collection, sampling, analyze results and provide recommendations based on findings.
4. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential outbreaks related to the agriculture industry and subsequently devise contingency plans.
5. Experience and understand the industry’s key stakeholders and principles/compliance approach such as government agencies and private sectors.
6. Emphasize in adopting good agronomic practices on plant needs, irrigation, pesticides, and fertilizers.
7. Initiative and developing innovative research-based techniques incorporated in the agronomist functions and programs.
8. Conduct industry products, solutions and custom demonstrations using our product to the relevant end target.
9. Manage and oversee laboratory and Research & Development Department functions.
10. Work closely with the Sales, Marketing and R&D team.
11. To develop and understand the product range (fertilizers) for oil palm and cash crops.
12. To support and undertake any other tasks as requested or assigned by the Management.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor in Agriculture/Plantation Management/Agronomy/Soil Science or equivalent or Microbiologist background will be added advantages.
2. At least 6 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
3. Excellent knowledge and experience in the oil palm and cash crops industry.
4. Knowledge and experience in Ganoderma disease and Durian will be an added advantage.
5. Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
6. Good command of English and excellent written & and presentation skills
7. Possess effective presentation and relationship-building skills.
8. Forward thinking and conceptualizing skills required
9. Result oriented and a good team leader player.
