About the role The Operational Lead for the Hub Inventory & ICT (Inventory & Intercompany Transactions) team is a hands-on, operational leader responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant inventory and ICT reporting across APAC markets. This role leads a team of I&I Finance Analysts, oversees processes and systems, drives improvements and ensures strict adherence to internal control and month-end reporting requirements. The Operational Lead is the primary process expert for Inventory & ICT and partners closely with Supply Chain, Local Operations Controllers (LOCs) and the GSK Operations (Inventory & ICT) team to resolve escalations and enable consistent, high-quality execution across the region.

Key Accountabilities
- Team leadership and people management
- Manage and develop a team of I&I Finance Analysts: set objectives, perform regular performance reviews, provide coaching and career development throughout the year.
- Mentor team members, identify skills gaps and deliver training to strengthen capability in I&I reporting and controls.
- Conduct onboarding and general Inventory & ICT trainings for new joiners.
- Provide back-up/back-fill and hands-on support for I&I Finance Analysts during periods of their unavailability.
- Process & reporting expertise
- Act as the Inventory & ICT reporting process expert supporting all APAC markets; provide guidance and clarity on evolving reporting requirements.
- Oversee I&I operational activities to ensure month-end close deadlines, Group consolidation reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure the team meets agreed operational KPIs and service levels.
- Controls & compliance
- Own responsibility for maintaining control effectiveness: ensure no control failures in accordance with the company’s Internal Control Framework.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions for any control or service delivery issues and implement preventive measures.
- Works closely with Supply Chain and Controllers to ensure all operational and compliance functions within the team are being properly executed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Operational systems & continuous improvement
- Oversee day-to-day operational systems and processes used by the I&I team; ensure they remain effective and fit-for-purpose.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, simplification, and risk mitigation, coordinate implementation across stakeholders.
- Ensure Local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are maintained and kept up to date with current developments and best practices.
- Market transitions & stakeholder management
- Oversee migration and onboarding of new markets into the I&I team: plan, coordinate testing, validate controls and ensure a smooth operational transition.
- Manage escalations from LOCs, Supply Chain and Controllers; lead cross-functional resolution and escalate to senior stakeholders when required.
- Collaborate closely with GSK Operations (Inventory & ICT) team to align on operational execution and change initiatives.
- Decision-making & escalation
- Assess a variety of evolving situations in I&I reporting, provide practical recommendations, and make informed operational decisions.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational and compliance matters within the Hub I&I remit.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business or related field; relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA/CPA) desirable.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, or finance operations within a multinational environment.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience managing small-to-medium sized finance teams, including performance management and development.
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close processes, consolidation reporting and internal control frameworks.
- Practical experience with ERP systems and finance reporting tools; experience in system migrations or process automation is an advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working collaboratively with Supply Chain, Controllers and regional finance teams.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to prioritize, drive continuous improvement and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
