Senior Java Developer

Job Description

Work Location: IOI City, Putrajaya

Work Arrangement: Fully onsite, Monday to Friday (5 days a week)

Main Responsibilities

• Support business operations by configuring systems or developing new features within Java applications
• Monitor application performance and ensure high responsiveness and reliability
• Analyze and resolve production issues, provide root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
• Contribute to maintaining and improving code quality, with a focus on test automation
• Stay updated with technology trends and propose solutions that enhance productivity and business efficiency
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for development and production support processes
  
  

Experience

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as a Java Developer, with exposure to both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Strong understanding of development processes including testing, code quality, and system design. Experience in a technical leadership capacity within a project is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Proven experience as a Java Developer or in a similar role
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proficient in Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
• Skilled in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Familiar with version control systems such as Git or RTC
• Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
• Experience with JUnit and automated testing practices
  
  

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in English is required to effectively collaborate with a multinational team
• Ability to work well in a team environment and engage with both technical and business stakeholders
• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  
  

Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Alternative learning paths (e.g., coding bootcamps) may also be considered
• Professional certifications (e.g., ITIL) are a plus
  
  

Preferred Industry Background

Experience in the Finance, Banking, or Insurance sectors is highly desirable. Prior exposure to production support and interaction with business users is an added advantage.
