Role PurposeThe Senior Manager role overseeing Entry Into Service (EIS) and aircraft retrofit projects and holds accountability for project outcomes by leveraging deep subject matter expertise. This role entails securing budget approvals, ensuring alignment with objectives within scope, timeline, and budget constraints, and providing strategic guidance for issue resolution. Additionally, the Senior Manager fosters leadership across the team, offering mentorship and fostering a collaborative environment to optimize performance and drive project success. Translate engagements with key stakeholders, and management into actionable strategies to be implemented.
Key Accountabilities- Subject Matter Expertise and Functional Ownership:
- Senior Manager expected to possess deep subject matter expertise in EIS and aircraft retrofit projects. This includes understanding the technical aspects, requirements, and challenges of both types of projects.
- Project Result Accountability:
- Senior Manager will be accountable for the overall results of the projects. This means ensuring that the projects achieve their intended outcomes, meet quality standards, and deliver the expected benefits to MAG.
- Steering Committee Updates and Approval:
- Regularly provide updates to and seek approvals from the Steering Committee. This involves communicating project progress, issues, and decisions that require higher-level endorsement to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Program Budget Management:
- Secure approval for the program budget. This responsibility includes developing a detailed budget, monitoring expenditure against the budget, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure financial control and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Project Management (Monitoring and Reporting):
- Ensure that the program meets its objectives within the defined scope, timeline, and budget constraints. This involves setting clear milestones, tracking progress, and implementing corrective actions to address deviations from the plan. Monitor project status reports and timelines regularly. This involves overseeing progress against milestones, identifying potential delays or risks, and taking proactive measures to keep the program on track.
- Guidance for Issue Resolution:
- Provide strategic guidance for resolving high-level issues that may impact project delivery or overall program success. This includes identifying risks early, implementing mitigation strategies, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Leadership and Team Guidance:
- Provide clear leadership direction and guidance to all team members involved in the EIS and aircraft retrofit projects. This includes fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, setting expectations for performance and behaviour, and empowering team members to excel in their roles.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and capabilities, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to achieve project objectives.
- Senior Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring project success through expertise, accountability for results, effective stakeholder management (including the Steering Committee), and proactive oversight of budget, objectives, and issue resolution
- Degree in any relevant Engineering field
- Experience in EIS & End-to-End Aircraft Project Planning
- At least seven (7) years of aviation engineering
- At least two (2) years’ experience in Project Management
- Possess strong communication skills.
