This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the expense function, managing staff-related accounting, fixed asset and lease accounting, and ensuring accurate and timely financial, statutory, and regulatory reporting following and complying to the applicable internal company policies, guidelines, standard operating procedures, as well as regulatory and Group reporting requirements. The position involves close collaboration with Human Resources, Group Office, auditors, and business stakeholders, while driving process improvements and automation. This position also includes leading a team, providing insightful business analysis, and supporting audits, tax filings, and special projects. Leadership in ad hoc projects are also key aspects of the role.

  • Oversee daily expense operations as well as financial and reporting (Group, regulatory, tax and statutory) activities.
  • Responsible for monthly financial close and reporting as well as Group reporting, statutory and regulatory reporting (including indirect tax, corporate tax and various local regulatory reporting).
  • Responsible for audit for the various countries (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, UK and US).
  • Responsible for Treasury function to strive for optimization of cash yield, no breach on counterparty limits and effective management of foreign exchange exposure.
  • Monitor and ensure zero breach for capital requirements in various countries and perform forward looking scenario or sensitivity analysis in anticipation of change affecting the ratio whenever arises.
  • Prepare analytics, predictive scenarios and commentaries for financials in a timely manner, enhance Finance data quality and accuracy.
  • Manage the expense payment process and ensure payments are timely and accurate. Work closely with Finance Business Partner to deliver materials and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Deliver insights and analytics including benchmarking data and deep dive of financial items or processes to identify opportunities.
  • Put in place robust controls for financial reporting and processes.
  • Responsible for implementing solutions to continuously automate, improve and optimize the processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a strong and collaborative working partnership with all teams and stakeholders and support them effectively on all expense operation and reporting matters.
  • Guide, coach and mentor team members on professional and/or personal development.
  • Promote workplace positivity through staff engagement and communication that encourages growth mindset.


Requirements

  • Bachelor or Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Internationally recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAEW, etc.) or working towards designation will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent managerial, communication and collaborative skills.
  • Driven, hand-on mindset and able to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented, good analytical mind, strategic and creative problem solver.
  • Strong stakeholders’ management skills with good balancing between diplomacy and tact with assertiveness.
  • Courageous, decisive and maintains a clear focus and sees action through to delivery.
  • Energetic, determined, positive, goal focused and consistent, even under pressure.


Other Business Knowledge/skills

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards, tax laws and local regulatory requirements in various countries (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, UK and US).
  • Excellent knowledge in expense operations and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, documentation standards, and compliance needs.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Coupa and/or OneStream will be an added advantage.
