Job Responsibility

  • Formulation & Product Development:
  • Develop and optimize cosmetic and personal care formulations (e.g., deodorants, sunscreens, lip balms, skincare, body care and haircare).
  • Ensure formulations meet stability, safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance (GMP, Halal, ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, etc.).
  • Conduct R&D trials, validate new product prototypes, and oversee scale-up from lab to production.
  • Identify and source unique, high-performance raw materials, including local ingredients for product differentiation.
  • Improve existing formulations for better performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all formulations adhere to GMP, Halal certification, and local/international regulatory standards.
  • Conduct stability testing, microbiological testing, and packaging compatibility tests to ensure product safety and longevity.
  • Oversee certification processes, including dermatologist-tested, organic, and Halal compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Research & Innovation:
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in the cosmetics and personal care industry.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and industry experts to explore new ingredients and formulation techniques.
  • Work on repurposing existing raw materials into new product categories (e.g., shower oil, hair oil).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Marketing, Production, and Regulatory teams to ensure smooth product development and launches.
  • Support packaging material selection and compatibility testing.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cosmetic or personal care R&D within a GMP-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Halal certification processes and raw material requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with stability testing, microbiological testing, and regulatory documentation.
  • Proven track record in developing and launching innovative cosmetic products.
  • Familiarity with natural, organic, and sustainable formulations is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot formulation challenges.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
