Basic Job Functions:
Maintain master data records within the EPC Supply Chain realm. Responsible for the integrity of master data records input into the ERP system. Work to improve cross functional efficiency and effectiveness in master data management. This candidate will assist in development and implementation of the master data creation, approval, change, and obsolescence policies, processes and procedures for Vendor Masters, Material Masters, Customer Masters, and Bills of Materials. Work in close relations with the Systems Business Division, Manufacturing MDM, Global Supply Chain, and MIS Team. Act as process lead for all MDM workflows pertaining to SAP Master Data. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of the SAP system, have experience with an ERP system and be able to pay attention to details in a fast pace and dynamic environment, and able to develop and implement processes for continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ability to analyze information, documentation, and processes provided in order to properly create and maintain vendor, material and customer records per procedure within the ERP system.
- Analyze workflow submissions for correct documentation per procedure.
- Create, change and obsolete vendor master, material master and customer master records within the SAP system.
- Ability to work with finance to ensure the master data is correct including a basic understanding of taxes and banking data.
- Maintain process documents as procedures formulate for continuous improvement.
- Maintain vendor standards and vendor numbering system and associated controls.
- Carry out Weekly Vendor Audit as per the Control Action Plan.
- Assisting in PR PO analysis and exception review as and when required.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and Responsible Business Alliance policies and procedures that are enforced within the organization.
- Maintain material master standards and numbering system and associated controls.
- Maintain procedural job aids and the ability to provide periodic training to large audiences.
- Maintain process workflows and executive metrics via A3’s, scorecards and slide decks.
- In depth knowledge of MRP concepts and ability to help analysts trouble shoot MRP and Demand to Supply issues.
- Ability to respond to system issues and devise compliant work-arounds while managing the solution.
- Create, change and obsolete material master and vendor master records within the ERP system for the Systems Business Division as requested.
- Ability to link together Material Masters per engineering direction to create BOM’s that meet finances approval in SAP.
- Ability to work with planning and understand the procurement process and its effect via master data and inventory.
- Ability to interface with customers both internal and external to respond to system issues around invoices as MDM related.
- May travel, including internationally, to solve issues, train and develop process.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Down time of the manufacturing process or other business at First Solar due to Master Data is minimized and responsive.
- Supplier relationships and associated risks are maintained and improved.
- Product cost and cash flow are positively impacted.
- Failure to perform responsibilities will have a significant impact on First Solar production and, ultimately, financial performance.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Technical, or IT, required.
- 1-2 years of experience in related field.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to communicate and work effectively across several levels within the organization.
- Solid knowledge of business processes and ERP system functionalities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and strong team-player.
- Ability to multitask and work on various audits and projects in different phases.
- Ability to manage and provide 24hr coverage with MDM specialist team.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Ability to make good judgments based on data, observations and supporting information.
