Job Overview

Reporting to the Global Commissioning Director, the Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for providing technical and organizational support to a global client base. The Commissioning Supervisor primarily manages the commissioning engineers of his area and executes customer requests for installation, commissioning, repair and troubleshooting of rotating equipment. Based in Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Assign priorities and make project schedules and plans to direct reports.
• Identify the needs and plan hiring and training of commissioning engineers.
• Coordinate the commissioning and field interventions and manage the schedule of commissioning engineers.
• Ensure proper preparation of site interventions including technical package availability and coordination with customers.
• Support customers during the warranty phase.
• Provide technical support to various internal and external teams.
• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, repairs and gas trial activities on-site.
• Perform and document functional tests of cryogenic pumps and mechanical and electrical equipment after final assembly.
• Provide on-site training to customers to improve the customers’ ability to effectively operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot control equipment such as temperature controllers, VFDs, power cables, feedthroughs, etc.
• Complete Field Service/Field Trouble reports after providing site services.
• Read assembly drawings, wiring schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams to confirm equipment functionality after it is built.
• Report and/or make recommendations to engineering for improvements on products.
• Work with the shop and sometimes assist with components' assembly or wiring as needed.
• Work with customers to decide work scope, provide quotations, necessary parts and tool lists and other logistic considerations necessary to prepare for field service personnel’s work.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Previous experience in a high-travel role servicing rotating equipment internationally is preferred.
• Fluent in English
• 10 + years minimum of related experience within cryogenics
  
  

Knowledge And Critical Skills/Expertise

• Above average technical communication skills.
• Strong Experience in commissioning activities and troubleshooting.
• Experience in managing field engineers.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical and process prints and related technical documentation.
• Ability to investigate, diagnose and troubleshoot products.
• Ability to work at customer sites with little direct supervision.
• Ability to work safely and effectively within local laws.
• Hands-on experience with field operation of cryogenic equipment.

Work Environmental and Physical Demands

• To perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
• Overtime may be necessary as the work load's dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays, travel required up to 80%.
• Job will generally be performed in an office/shop environment and generally requires travel to a client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• A valid passport, or the ability to obtain a valid passport, is required.
• A willingness to work overtime, outside of regular business hours and regular working days, to meet customer needs.
• Ability to perform effectively in high stress situations.
• Candidates cannot have issues with heights or confined spaces.
