Supply Chain Manager
We are searching for an experienced Supply Chain Manager at our Malaysia facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Manager serves as a key leader responsible for overseeing the tactical aspects of the production planning, procurement, and logistics teams. The role involves developing, enhancing, and optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) processes for planning, procurement, and logistics. The Supply Chain Manager is also accountable for managing vendor-managed inventory programs, offsite warehousing, monitoring supplier performance, managing material expedites, and ensuring optimized inventory levels. Leadership and direction are provided to employees engaged in production planning, procurement, and logistics.
Primary Responsibilities
Logistics Management:
- Oversee the transportation, distribution, and warehousing activities to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving logistics processes and ensuring timely product delivery.
Procurement:
- Lead the procurement team in sourcing quality materials, negotiating contracts, and establishing relationships with suppliers.
- Implement scientific purchasing methodologies utilizing cycle, buffer, and safety stock levels.
- Responsible for supplier performance monitoring and driving improvement.
Supply Chain Strategy:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate cross functionally to setup, execute, and monitor customer vendor managed inventory programs.
- Utilize inventory management techniques to balance inventory optimization with replenishment needs.
- Establish and monitor minimum/ maximum inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Focal point for managing material expedites requiring escalation within the Oliver organization.
- May be responsible to work on other supply chain duties as assigned.
Planning:
- Develop and execute demand planning processes to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to create production plans and schedules that align with business objectives.
- Evaluate and adjust production plans based on changing demand, inventory levels, and other factors.
- Optimize resource allocation to meet production targets and customer demand.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient utilization of equipment, materials, and labor.
Team Leadership:
- Provide strong leadership to the supply chain team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Set clear goals and expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Demonstrate and foster Oliver Core Values.
- Develop and report on performance metrics relevant to the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Supply Chain leadership experience.
Other Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of logistics, procurement, and planning principles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
- Strong math and statistics skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- ERP Super User experience - SAP experience a plus.
