As a Trade Compliance Analyst, your mission is to conduct and manage screening of business partners and transactions, with a primary focus on PTBA’s China-related business. Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, sanctions and export control requirements. Support implementation of the Group’s trade compliance policies and procedures within the PTBA across the APAC region and make sure that trade compliance activities in APAC region are compliant with applicable trade sanctions regulations in the countries where we operate. You will report to PTBA Trade Compliance Manager - APAC.
You will
- Conduct enhanced screening of business partners and transactions using designated tools and software, focusing on China-related transactions.
- Review and analyze system-generated blocks and alerts, performing in-depth investigations to assess risks related to flagged transactions.
- Document findings in detailed screening reports and maintain accurate records of all screening activities, including alerts, investigations, and decisions.
- Monitor timely completion of screenings and ensure prompt release of system-generated blocks in line with SLA requirements.
- Stay informed about regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks related to sanctions and export controls in the APAC region.
- Work closely with the GECIA screening team, the wider PTBA Trade Compliance team and business stakeholders, to assess and mitigate risks.
- Where needed, assist the APAC Trade Compliance Manager in conducting internal trade audits, risk assessments, and delivering training to PTBA entities in the APAC region.
- Support the APAC Trade Compliance Manager with assigned projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening the compliance framework for APAC region.
- Align with other business areas to share best practices and ensure consistent compliance standards.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Trade, Logistics or related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in trade compliance, with focus on sanctions and denied party screening
- Strong understanding of international sanctions and export controls
- Familiarity with screening tools such (SAP GTS, Descartes, Kharon, Dow Jones) and MS Office; experience with SAP S/4 Hana is a plus
- Skilled in sanctions screening and customer due diligence (KYC)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - proficient in English and Chinese
- Ability to work with stakeholders across regions
- Comfortable with technology, quick learner and able to implement process improvements
- Strong logical and analytical skills
- Team player with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- You have an eye for detail and are customer-focused
- You are self-motivated and you are able to efficiently bring projects to completion.
