Do you thrive in fast-paced logistics environments and have a talent for optimizing warehouse operations? Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a driven and hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead with excellence.

The Warehouse Operations Manager must be driven by service excellence, and a mindset to continuously develop all operations of the warehouse in line to BWS Global Standards, and Global Technological Innovation pertaining to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), processes, standards, polices and deliverables.

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects as it relates to warehouse, transportation operations and people management.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Ensure all internal and external client’s cargo are processed safely and timely in the warehouse and laydown yard.
  • Responsible to ensure all the company’s WMS, Portals, Share Points, etc. are updated timely and correctly.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, process flows, RACI matrix, and any other documentation as requested by management.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock checks and audits for all cargo and materials for internal and external clients.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and stockouts.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure adequate stock levels for the warehouse and clients occupying the warehouse.
  • Manage and create work plan for the receiving, storage, preserve, and dispatch of goods to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop a cross-docking and just-in-time plan for cargo transiting and entering the warehouse and laydown yard.
  • Optimize warehouse & laydown yard layout and storage practices to maximize space utilization.
  • Implement efficient workflows and procedures to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Manage and enforce the safe use of all equipment and machinery to ensure cost and operational efficiency and optimization.
  • Manage the transportation arm of the company, through efficient coordination of transportation equipment and usage.
  • Ensure full trucks loads (FTL) initiatives are practice for cost and operational efficiency.
  • Work cross-functionally with HSSEQ, Transport Provider and Internal Personnel to ensure route assessments, journey management plans, loading and lashing assessments, transport assessments, port and airport assessments are done for all Special, Projects and OOG cargo.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations
  • Ensure all documentation, emails, approvals, receipts, quotes, costing, job tickets, truck slips, etc. are stored in Share Point, Carlo, WMS and submit for billing within the monthly financial period.
  • Manage the P&L for the warehouse.
  • Work cross-functionally with P&C and management to recruit, train, and develop warehouse staff, including Warehouseman, Operations Administrator, Warehouse Attendant, Staging Area Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Team Lead, Transport Coordinator and any other position as the need may arise.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a safe and productive work environment and BWS work culture.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
  • Meet regularly with warehouse leads to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention
  • Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages
  • Have open dialogues, conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Enforce all Global, Local and HSSEQ safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits and checks to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with local, regional and global HSSEQ partners to provide training on safe handling practices, emergency procedures and safety at the workplace.
  • Collaborate with clients, logistics team and all stakeholders to fulfill orders and resolve any issues or complaints.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods to meet customer deadlines, expectations and KPIs.
  • Mandatory submission of weekly and monthly reports to management team.
  • Ensure all internal and external targets and KPIs are met.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement new technology solutions to streamline operations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and KPIs to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods
  • Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
  • Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, lead and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for the role).
