Electrical Control Panel & Store Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Electrical Control Panel & Store Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical control panels while also managing electrical spare parts, inventory, and store operations. The role ensures the availability of materials, compliance with safety standards, and efficient support for production and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Control Panel Duties (In-house training is provided)

• Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to electrical drawings and specifications.
• Install electrical components such as PLCs, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, switches, and terminal blocks.
• Perform panel testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on control panels and related equipment.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Store & Inventory Duties

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming electrical materials and spare parts.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
• Issue materials and spare parts to maintenance and production teams.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests.
• Organize and maintain the store in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and inventory audits.
  

Requirements:

Education

• Diploma, Certificate, or Vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in electrical panel assembly, maintenance, or industrial electrical work.
• Experience in storekeeping or inventory management is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of electrical control systems and industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with PLC systems and motor control circuits.
• Basic understanding of inventory management systems (ERP/CMMS preferred).
• Competent in using electrical testing instruments such as multimeters and insulation testers.

Soft Skills

• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
