We are currently seeking a Cost Control and Risk Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term contract.

About Job:

The Cost Control & Risk Engineer is responsible for managing and reporting all costs and revenues of assigned projects. The role supports the estimation of total project cost at completion, updates expected project profitability valuation, and ensures the reliability of this information.

The Cost Control & Risk Engineer also proactively supports the Project Manager in protecting and improving project objectives and margins through anticipation and de-risking. The role assists in monitoring all project risks (Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Technology, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, etc.). Additionally, the Cost Control & Risk Engineer is responsible for implementing Risk Management processes and governance during both proposal and project execution, and is directly involved in the production of all qualitative and quantitative (cost and schedule) risk management deliverables.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To establish the initial project budget/forecast based on handover data from Proposal Department using Cost Control system.
  • Responsible to update changes to the forecast based on project evolution and other risk impacts to project
  • To set up Cost Control Procedures
  • To produce monthly Project Cost Report and Project Management Report
  • Preparation of monthly invoices to Client and follow up works (including reimbursable items)
  • Cash forecast update
  • To continually assess the adequacy of budgetary provision
  • Carries-out statistical and close-out reports, with a view towards improving feedback data and estimation tools on future contracts / proposals
  • Complies with and implements both company and client HSE Management System objectives and procedures, as well as Quality standards and policies, and other applicable company procedures
  • In tight liaison with the Proposal / Project Manager and/or Project Control Manager, in coordination with all Engineering and Construction disciplines, the Senior Risk Engineer assists the Proposal / Project Manager in managing all risks on a project (Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Technology, Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, etc). He also maintains a strong interface with Cost Control, Estimating and Planning & Scheduling disciplines

About you:


MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Survey or equivalent
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in related field
  • Proficient in English and able to communicate effectively
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel/ Word
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deal with deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in the oil & gas and energy industry
  • Knowledge of cost control and Risks tools
  • Strong drive and initiatives
