Our client is an established MNC in the FMCG industry. They are expanding the local team and are looking for an individual with expertise with automation and system integration to lead business-critical projects for them.
Job Description
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of automation projects to enhance operational efficiency in food production environments.
- Manage the integration of new automation systems and upgrades to existing systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automation control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI interfaces, with a focus on improving operational reliability and reducing manual processes.
- Collaborate with process engineers, quality assurance teams, and maintenance personnel to optimize equipment performance and meet production goals.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant industry standards such as ISO 22000, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, as well as applicable food safety regulations including FDA and FSMA.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery while adhering to company policies and standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for automation-related issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including project plans, user manuals, and training materials for staff.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging automation technologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in automation technologies and trends within the food manufacturing sector.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring alignment with company objectives and strategic goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on project management in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and robotics.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, ISO certifications (ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001), FDA regulations, and FSMA compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex automation projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on business needs.
