The role will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the software development lifecycle by fostering collaboration between development and operations teams. Responsibilities include automating processes, managing infrastructure, implementing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring system performance, and integrating security practices throughout. The goal is to achieve faster, more reliable software delivery and maintain high system availability.

The role will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the software development lifecycle by fostering collaboration between development and operations teams. Responsibilities include automating processes, managing infrastructure, implementing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring system performance, and integrating security practices throughout. The goal is to achieve faster, more reliable software delivery and maintain high system availability.
Responsibilities
- Implementing automation tools and frameworks for automatic code deployment (CI/CD)
- Investigating and resolving technical issues including but not limited to pipeline issues
- Analyse current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
- Configuring and deploying the necessary resources and integrated cloud environments
- Translates requirements into solutions
- Creating necessary documentation relating to work produced
- Working within an Agile Development Team, Scrum / Kanban framework
- Working closely with Development Manager, Team Leaders, Principal Engineers and Senior Software Engineers to build well architected Cloud hosted solutions
- Working collaboratively with Product Managers, Technical Product Owners, Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure features are delivered to a high standard
- Working across the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring that our products are delivered to a published roadmap within planned release cycles
- Contributing towards the defining and developing a Sprint / Kanban backlog to achieve the goals set out by our Product team
- Managing infrastructure cost by making sure the resources are used efficiently.
- Managing consistent infrastructure or components upgrade to make sure services are secured and no vulnerabilities.
- Ensure infrastructure has been deployed according to best practices.
- Design and develop pipeline to accelerate software delivery and deployment.
- Providing unit tests to support and validate for any development work undertaken
- Contributing to the Development Team’s working practices and technology decisions
- Perform tasks with limited supervision and require substantial use of independent judgment within the scope.
- At least 4 years’ hands on development experience on DevOps and open-source technologies
- Prior experience as a DevOps engineer or similar job role
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices
- Working knowledge of CI/CD workflow
- Working knowledge of IaC preferably terraform
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure
- Familiarity with software release management and deployment
- Working knowledge of using Git as software version control
- Has exposure in Docker containers, Kubernetes, Istio and Helm
- Experience in Microservices architecture
- Working knowledge with AWS pipeline tools
- Intermediate knowledge in software design and application
- Has exposure to authentication will be a plus
- Possess cloud certification. e.g. AWS SysOps Certificate, AWS Solution Architect Certificate
