Environmental, Health and Safety Officer (EHS)

Primary Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

Environmental & Safety & Health

• Lead the EH & Safety committee meeting and maintain minutes.
• To train all safety committee member to ensure they are competence person to conduct safety duty for committee member.
• Prepares and schedules EHS training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements.
• To propose training programs related to EHS to plant manager and engage HR/Admin for execution.
• Ensure the monitoring of Noise Risk Assessment, Personal Chemical Exposure Monitoring, CHRA, Audiometry Test, Certificate of Fitness (Machinery Inspection) , Water Discharge monitoring are carried out as scheduled.
• To be committee member of 5S
• The general duties of an SHO are to ensure compliance and to promote a safe conduct of work.
• Regulatory responsibilities of an SHO are specifically prescribed in the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) regulations.
• Implement and drive safety programs for the factory. With correct KPIs in place.
• Continuously improving to ensure sustained compliance to OSH law in company.
• Lead the safety team to ensure a safe and health working environment.
• Liaise with DOSH to arrange for renewal of registered equipment and to close any observation and findings.
• Prepared summary of safety and health activities at the beginning of the following month.
• Conduct meeting at least once every 3 months. Maintain written minutes of such meeting.
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
• Responsible for health and safety of company employees, visitors and contractors.
• Interface with the legal authorities such as DOSH, DOE. Ensure compliance with statutory provisions and required documents.
• Ensure the Fire Protection System is carried out by the contractual vendor as per schedule and follow up on the recommended action.
• Ensure the machineries are inspected with certificate of fitness which comply to the Factories and Machinery Act.
• Involved in accident investigation, ensure the detailed report with findings of what caused the incident and with suggestions on preventive measures. The accident report with corrective action is submitted to the regulatory body in a timely manner.
• Ensures that Safety Data Sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
• Develop occupational health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
• Lead EHS audits and inspections. Develop corrective and prevention action plans as needed.
• Initiate continuous improvement on EHS policies and programs.
• Participate in Environmental monitoring programs and inspections on Schedule Waste, Scrubber System, Water Treatment Plant etc. Ensure compliance with the local authority.
• To conduct fire-drill exercise plan once/year, and prepare Mock drill report, fire drill report and closing meeting of exercise.
• To ensure existing procedure related to EHS is remain valid and develop new SOP or directive if require.
• To support Top management in risk and opportunities analysis for NPM.

Security

• To support HR& Admin Department on following task
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
• Remain in compliance with Norma Group, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
• Protect the company's assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
• Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire presentation, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations.
• Develop process and system in place for security.
• Owns monitoring of CCTV cameras to retrieve if any incident happens.
