As a Export Controls & Sanctions Specialist APAC you’ll be responsible for supporting APAC region with setting up a trade compliance platform on export control & sanctions, fulfilment of local reporting requirements to government authorities and providing input to internal and external audits.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform as part to the global Export Control and Sanctions team headed by Global Export Controls and Sanctions officer to support development, deployment, and implementation of changes to export control compliance policies and procedures regionally and on a global scale.
  • Lead and manage export controls & sanctions compliance topics in APAC including partnership with local ECOs, review for 3rd Party Screening escalations, acting as a subject matter to contribute to decision making processes.
  • Maintain in-house knowledge of developments in regulatory landscape.
  • Assure development and lead effective awareness training programs in APAC.
  • Contribute and maintain risk country policies and ensure related implementations throughout the organization.
  • Identify dual-use items and perform license management where applicable.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of compliance programs in APAC.
  • Represent Signify to regional internal and external audits, business reviews, and investigations from local government authorities.

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in legal (at least bachelor), or international business, or supply chain/logistics.
  • Similar work experience at least 3 years in the same capacity
  • Experienced in 3rd party screening programs, processes, and software.
  • Experienced in conducting workshops, trainings, and influencing nonhierarchical stakeholders.
  • Extensive working experience in a multinational/APAC environment.
  • Having good understanding and insights of the business needs and ability to maintain a long-term partnership with internal and external key business partners.
  • Specific knowledge of Chinese export controls and sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of regional licensing requirements.
  • Business proficiency in Mandarin and English is a must
  • Adherence to strong business ethical standards, high sense of following commitments, understanding of business needs, ability to adopt process improvements, and drive change.
  • Preferable SAP knowledge.
  • Businesslike attitude in a complex stakeholder landscape, strong recognition of team work.
