PPG is looking for a talented individual, who has a passion for cloud environments. As a Cloud Services Intern/Trainee you will analyze, design, implement, tune, and manage IT infrastructure in our cloud environments. This role will exist within the Cloud Architecture/Services team within PPG’s Cloud Center of Excellence. It aligns with PPG’s Cloud Only strategy by offering a successful candidate hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will gain practical knowledge of cloud platforms, automation tools, and operational best practices in a dynamic enterprise environment. This role will support PPG’s Corporate Functions and Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).
• Manage and continuously improve PPG’s public cloud Landing Zones by implementing architecture, governance, and security standards.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, security architects, and frontline IT teams to ensure cloud security and regulatory compliance.
• Help automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate incidents as needed.
• Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Optimize the cost of cloud spend through rightsizing, waste-finding, and reserved instances.
• Demonstrate a passion for learning, keeping up to date on technical advancements, and industry trends.
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or has recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology and Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI, or Alibaba cloud).
• Familiarity with cloud automation tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible) or scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Bash) are considered a plus.
