Position Title: Lorry Driver

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lorry Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to designated locations. This role requires a professional who is adept at managing time schedules, maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition, and adhering to all traffic and transportation laws.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate a lorry to transport goods and materials to various destinations as scheduled.
2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any issues or maintenance needs.
3. Follow routes and schedules as assigned by the logistics coordinator.
4. Ensure that cargo is secured properly and in compliance with safety requirements.
5. Maintain accurate logs of travel, rest periods, fuel purchases, mileage, and cargo details in accordance with regulatory requirements.
6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to report progress, delays, or any concerns.
7. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of the cargo, the public, and the environment.
8. Provide excellent customer service during pickup and delivery, representing the company professionally at all times.
9. Assist in loading and unloading the lorry when necessary.
10. Stay informed of and comply with transportation regulations, including those related to hazardous materials.

Requirements:

1. Valid lorry driving license (Class C or D) and a clean driving record.
2. Proven experience as a Lorry Driver or a similar position in transportation.
3. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to lorry operation and freight transportation.
4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and route maps.
5. Physical fitness and the ability to handle physical workload, including the loading and unloading of goods.
6. Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Basic mechanical skills to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and routes.
