ROLE PURPOSE
Operations Officer (Currency Operation) is responsible to perform administrative duties and data entry
roles for currency operation. Prepare material and documentations, and assist Custodian in day-to-day
inventory management and withdrawal/deposit activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Effective Execution of the Bank’s Mandates:

  1. Administrative Duties: Prepare correspondence, safekeep of document and perform data entry roles for currency operation. Witness disposal of banknotes waste and ensure in compliance with relevant governance, policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain Quality and Integrity: Facilitate exchange of defaced currency and prepare documents for counterfeit case in the region.
  3. Compliance and Governance: Perform activities as specified in the guidelines and established procedures to maintain quality and integrity of currency in the region.
  4. Maintenance of Currency Handling Equipment: Perform basic maintenance for the forklifts, powered stackers, pallet trucks and Mobile Racking System to ensure good working condition for currency operation activities.
  5. Inventory Management Support: Handling movement of currency inventory within currency operation areas. Facilitate stock verification activity by JMW, JAD or JAN.

Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness:

  1. Business Process Improvements and Other Task: Prepare data and material to identify and recommend improvement to the current work processes, standard operating procedures, and guidelines to improve efficiency, productivity and sustainability of currency processing. Perform relief function and undertake other task as and when required.
  2. Project/Initiative: Participate in the department's project/initiative as agreed by supervisor.
  3. Staff Development: Undertake continuous self-learning and development initiatives to build the required competencies to discharge duty effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Academic Qualifications: Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
  • Experience: Working experience in related field would be an added advantage.

TECHNICAL SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic knowledge in Finance / Accounting.
  • Basic IT knowledge
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Strong team player with ability to work using own initiative
  • Basic Risk Management
  • Customer service
