Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with a strong background in Transmission & Distribution to oversee and manage projects related to electrical transmission and distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in project management within the transmission and distribution sector, ensuring successful project execution from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation for transmission and distribution projects. Define project objectives and deliverables.
• Project Execution: Lead and manage all aspects of transmission and distribution projects, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight for the design and implementation of transmission and distribution systems. Ensure compliance with industry as well as client’s standards and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and project alignment. Manage expectations and address any issues or changes.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
• Reporting: Prepare and present project proposals/reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments to senior management and stakeholders.
• Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and resource utilization. Provide direction and support to project staff and contractors.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Electrical), Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in project management within the transmission and distribution sector.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale transmission and distribution projects.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems and technologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
