Accounting & Reporting

Prepares statements by collecting and analysing data, investigating variances and trends

• Document financial transactions by entering account information
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues, expenditures and liabilities)
• Analyse data, investigate variances, summarize data, information and trends
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
• Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
• Analyze and clarify reporting questions from head office
• Provides financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations.
• Support in financial forecasting and risk analysis
• Assists with the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts close processes
• Assist in organizing and carrying out External Audits
• Participate in finance system implementation and system enhancements projects
• To undertake other ad-hoc task when assigned

• Complies with state and federal tax filing requirements by:
• Studying regulations
• Adhering to requirements
• Advising management on required actions
• Calculating quarterly estimated tax payments
• Assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions

Role Summary

Performs professional accounting work including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data. Requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles and bookkeeping experience. May include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation and reporting of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation, external monitoring of statutory accounting principles.
