As a Senior Costing Engineer, you will be responsible for...
Overview:
- The Senior Costing Analyst is responsible to support new project quotations and conduct should-be-cost analysis to obtain cost saving opportunity.
- This role involves collaborating with various departments to gather information, analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimization besides able to adapt with fast paced work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluating Bill of Materials (BOM) input and review BOM assumptions.
- Understanding and adhering to standard costing processes to defined product target price and tooling cost
- Estimating product unit cost and tooling cost to establish target prices and tooling costs for new project quotes on specified commodities.
- Providing support of cost analysis during the sourcing phase/conduct should be cost (e.g., stamping, injection moulding, die casting).
- Working closely and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure target price achievement.
- Reviewing supplier quotes and cost breakdowns to support gap closure analysis.
- Collaborating with team mates to evaluate and review different design-engineering and VAVE initiatives.
- Providing support for critical project Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and conducting cost walk/ variance analysis.
- Working under pressure and meeting target deadlines.
What you already have...
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Purchasing or other related course.
- At least 5 years of working experience in Automotive/ Mechanism design/ Manufacturing/ Industry Engineering.
- Experience in stamping, injection molding manufacturing and tooling design who expresses strong motivation to transfer to costing is an advantage.
- Proficient communication skills with regional stakeholders. Fluent in both English and Mandarin to deal with China region.
- Willing to work under pressure especially with flexible working time in China and Malaysia to adapt with dynamic changing market associated with Chinese OEM.
- Excellent skill on Microsoft Excel, PPT, Word and experience with database management is plus.
