Bartender

Job purpose

A well-known hospitality group in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Bartender or Barback with bartendering experience to be part of its expansion journey. As a Bartender or Barback, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality beverages and exceptional customer service. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for hospitality. Bartenders will primarily focus on crafting and serving drinks, while Barbacks will support bartenders in maintaining the bar's cleanliness, organization, and inventory.. Main responsibilities are:

Duties and responsibilities

Bartender:

• Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to KARLS Group’s recipes and standards.
• Engage with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations on drinks.
• Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
• Manage cash and card transactions in line with our procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient bar service.
• Maintain knowledge of drink menu items and provide insightful recommendations to guests.

Barback:

• Assist bartenders by stocking, restocking, and organizing bar supplies, including glassware, ice, garnishes, and other essentials.
• Ensure the bar area is kept clean and organized throughout service.
• Help with setting up and breaking down the bar for shifts and events.
• Assist with basic drink preparation under bartender supervision.
• Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or items needed.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the bar menu and support the team in delivering excellent service.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Be the minimum age required to serve alcohol
• Maintain a courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance
• Knowledge of current menu items, beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors
• Full-time
• Ability to remain calm in tense situations with coworkers and customers
• Observant and thorough when completing tasks
• Reliable and punctual
• Be able to stand, walk, or lift heavy objects for extended periods
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
