Category Strategic Development Manager

The primary objective of the Category Strategic Development Manager Roles is to partner with key stakeholders to develop and embed best practice category frameworks to support commercial planning, monthly business reviews & 3YR strategic planning to deliver Blackmores Group Strategic Ambitions. Category Strategic Development Manager will provide leadership in data maturity road map, data integrity process & development actionable data reporting that drives insight-led decision making across the regions.
Responsibilities include:
Category Leadership
- Interpret external and internal data to support the commercialization of those insights into strategic recommendations on Pack Price Architecture, future Innovation pipeline & development of the Category Growth Drivers.
- Analyse data and business intelligence to identify future trends in the market, new regions, new channels and adjacent categories
- Accelerate Category projections and solutions by using Market, Customer, Shopper & Consumer insights
- Partner with Head of Category Development and cross functional teams and agitate the shorter-term business challenges and opportunities ensuring that decisions are congruent with long term category vision, strategies and aspiration
Category and Channel Strategy and planning
- Partner in the development of 6Ps through an understanding of customers, categories, consumers and shoppers to maximize growth and profitability
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to Develop and embed Strategic Category thinking & Category Drivers across all regions
- Partner closely with Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Brand and Sales to support analyses that enables data-based decisions in growing long term and sustainable category growth
Data Maturity & Capability Building
- Lead local relationships with external data parties (ie. IQVIA, Nielsen)
- Work collaboratively with IT & Global insights Team to improvement data quality, integrity & Automation
Promotion, Pricing & Trade Investment
- Work collaboratively with markets in developing process & strategic recommendations for price reviews across SEAK (South East Asia and Korea)
- Support Regions with promotional effectiveness tools & framework
- Work collaboratively with Group & Region Marketing on PPA to develop consistent approach across regions & help to commercialize/prioritise opportunities to drive sustainable category growth.
Who are you?
- Bachelors’ degree in business, statistics, accounting, data analytics or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to integrate multiple data/analysis tools and approaches to identify opportunities for growth
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Data visualization products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and articulate key insights and conclusions
- Ability to think critically and strategically to problem solve & drive future growth
- Proficient in the use of all category management software, concepts, analytical techniques; advanced skills in sales (ie, Nielsen) & customer Data (Qual & Quant)
- A coach, mentor to support capability development across region
- Ability to work across functions to identify optimal solutions and/or problem resolution
- Agile, flexible and growth mindset to drive organisations growth
- Ability to build strong relationships, initiate action and adjust to change
- Excellent analytical skills with a track record in defining customer and business strategies through data driven decision making
- Experience creating and building new processes and systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
