Software Engineer L2 (Ruby on Rails)

• Develop and maintain a large, mature Ruby on Rails application
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of this Ruby on Rails application and other software platforms used across multiple products
• Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Ruby code
• Develop and maintain complex, multi-schema PostgreSQL databases
• Design, implement, and maintain GRPC and REST APIs
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure high software quality
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends 

• 2+ years of experience using Ruby on Rails in a business environment.
• Strong experience using the PostgreSQL database.
• Experience collaborating in a team environment.
• Proficient knowledge of web application architecture.
• Strong problem solver who has a passion for troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate also has:

• Experience with developing and optimising customer-facing APIs.
• Experience with newer API technologies, such as GraphQL and/or GRPC/Protobuf.
• Experience using AWS cloud-computing components such as Lambda, API Gateway, etc.
• Experience with different programming paradigms and design patterns.
• Excellent time-management and organization skills.
• A self-starter attitude and is a life-long learner.
